The Haverhill Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) will host a Transition Planning 101 meeting (ages 14-22) featuring Andrea Morris, director of family supports, at The Arc of Greater Haverhill–Newburyport.
The virtual meeting starts at 6 pm on Monday, January 30, 2023.
The meeting will address transition planning and services required for young adults with disabilities ages 14-22. It will focus on transition special education services needed to prepare young adults for employment, independent living, and further education.
Ms. Morris has worked in the complex world of transition planning for more than eight years. She meets with and collaborates with students, caregivers, educators, and state agencies, among others, to provide transition planning support in a meaningful way, especially around timelines, benefits, and the adult service system.
Parents, guardians, and caregivers of children ages 14 or older are strongly encouraged to attend. Registration is required.
The Haverhill SEPAC meeting will be in English; however, The Arc of Greater Haverhill–Newburyport will offer a transition planning event in Spanish on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, from 10:30 am to 12 pm [Register].
