Basic Rights Training in Spanish

The Haverhill, Massachusetts Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) will hold a basic rights training in Spanish on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at 6 PM in the Haverhill High School library (Se adjunta el folleto en español).

Whether you’re new to special education or have been involved for a while, this workshop is for you. This presentation provides an introduction to your rights as parents, guardians, and caregivers of children with special needs under state and federal laws.

Ms. Olga M. Lopez, who works as an outreach specialist (Latino) at the Parent Training and Information Center at the Federation for Children with Special Needs, will present the training in Spanish.

The Parent Training and Information Center provides information and assistance on special education laws and procedures, community resources, disability information, advocacy groups, and more through its special education call center.

The Parent Training and Information Center also provides free local workshops throughout Massachusetts that focus on a variety of special education topics. Many workshops are also offered in Chinese, Portuguese, Spanish, Haitian Creole, and Vietnamese.

Haverhill High School is located at 137 Monument Street, Haverhill, MA 01832. The most convenient place to park is behind the school in the parking lot past the tennis courts.
