About the event
Understanding the MCAS-Alt & What It Means for Your Child
Join Haverhill SEPAC for a virtual educational parent workshop presented by the Center for Law and Education (CLE) focused on the MCAS Alternate Assessment (MCAS-Alt) and how a student's participation may affect their education.
For families of students with disabilities, decisions about assessment can have an impact beyond testing. This workshop will help parents and caregivers better understand the MCAS-Alt, how placement decisions are made through the IEP process, and what those decisions may mean for a student's instruction and path toward a high school diploma.
During this workshop, families will learn:
The difference between MCAS and MCAS-Alt
Which students may be eligible to participate in MCAS-Alt
